Community Rowing on Silver Lake
Discover the Joy of Rowing Together
SLBC Rowing Program
Rowing at the combines recreation, fitness, and community in a welcoming and supportive environment. Led by Marjorie Summers, Vice-Commodore of Rowing, the program continues to grow with both longtime members and new rowers discovering the enjoyment of being on the water.
The rowing group gathers for casual weekend rows throughout the season, typically meeting at 8:00 AM for relaxed outings on Silver Lake. For those looking for a little more excitement, occasional sprint races may also be organized for members interested in a fun challenge.
New rowers are always encouraged to participate, and SLBC currently has an Alden Ocean rowing boat available for loan to someone interested in learning the sport and helping house the equipment. Experienced members are happy to share knowledge about rowing technique, physical conditioning, and boat maintenance while building friendships and camaraderie along the way.
Whether your goal is exercise, skill development, competition, or simply enjoying peaceful mornings on the lake, the SLBC rowing program offers a great way to connect with others and enjoy life on the water.
